In Line

...waiting...

Read my new article in the SCBWI-IL's The Prairie Wind. It's all about surviving the dreaded professional "dry spell" freelancers face. I am now officially a regular contributor to "Illustrator Tips".

  1. What a cool picture! What were you waiting in line for? I can see you ... is that Leon to your side?

  2. Gosh, not only are your a great artist but you're a fantastic writer! I think it is wonderful that you can share your experience with others and perhaps help them weather those dry spells too. I've been there with you through part of it and I would say a heavy dose of optimism, like you had, is a good thing to have as well! :) You are my friend and you are my inspiration.

  5. This is great, Kate, really helpful... I'll bookmark that page to keep on coming back to it. It's really great to get insight from a professional illustrator like you, who has so much experience on the field (besides a LOT of talent...)

  12. Thanks everyone!

Phyllis - standing in line at the Chicago Air and Water Show at North Avenue Beach in Chicago. Boredom sometimes brings inspiration, if you look for it! I started fixating on the shadows and took about 10 pics while standing there. I need to post them to my Flickr site.
