
Paying homage to childhood...
It is said that, as artists, every piece of art we create is a self portrait. I can definitely say this illustration is "me". Regardless of my age on the outside, I am still this girl dancing on my bed with my dog and making lots of noise.
I am still working out some of the details in the bed and overall proportions, but I hope to take this to color in the future.
Never grow old! That's what I say. I love your art so much Kate. Great illustration!!

ReplyDeleteLOL! I was just jumping on my bed the other day with Kanoe! I can just see you doing this too. I hope we never lose our childhood and enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of kids. It will keep us young. I love the motion in this drawing! So fun!

Thanks for bringing back that wonderful memory! Your line work has wonderful energy and you've captured the feeling of that joy of jumping.

Such great movement, I can feel the sensation of jumping as I look at this adorable drawing. It's slamming me back to those good ole days. Sort of like when you hear a certain song or smell.
