Motherhood

©Kathleen Rietz
Sometimes I wish I were a mom. I am working on an assignment and one of the themes is motherhood. So I am drawing all of these moms holding and caressing their young children, and it creates a yearning inside of me. I wonder what the future will hold...?

  3. I couldn't take my eyes off this one Kate. It left a little lump in my throat. It is such a powerful image, capturing the unique connection between mother and child and made all the more real with your wishes.

  4. Beautiful sketch and post. I think not seeing the faces lets the viewer (including other non-mommies like me!) take on the mommy role.

  6. Excellent sketch Kate. To cure your yearning, hang out at the local grocery store sometime--ha ha. Anyhow, I love your Illo Friday piece too--hilarious and so well done.
