My Website Update

©Kathleen Rietz
If you haven't checked out my website lately, DO! I update at least weekly, and I feel as though it is finally really coming together and representing who I am as an artist. I have weeded out a lot of artwork that, while very nice, does not represent my current goals. I would really like your feedback, of course. Don't be shy...

  2. I dont like this one as much as the others, but I suppose thats because it's not really my style. I really love your other pictures though!

  3. It is looking great Kate! Really clear and to the point as what it is that you do. The illustrations look beautiful!
Perhaps you should mention your books, that's my only comment as to what it needs. Other than that I think is great.

  5. The updated website looks absolutely terrific, Kate. I agree with Ali...showing your book covers would be great. I see you have mentioned it but visually seeing your success would be a bonus.

  7. Thanks everyone.

I do agree that it would be good to show the books i have illustrated instead of just mentioning them.. However, they are in a style I do not use anymore and want to stay away from. Any suggestions?

  8. Web site looks great!
Very good choice for the opening image. By the way, did I mention how much I love "rainy days"

  9. Hi Kate, the site looks great! I really like the new illustration page with the different sections, I think this works well. (I think it even loads more quickly than before, but that just might be me?)

I love the feature artwork on the front page and especially the process section. This is something I'd like to add to mine.

Oh, and 'Thirsty' looks great in colour!

  10. Hi Kate, your website is so lovely! The colors are fun and inviting and the entire site is very easy to navigate. It's perfect. Since you don't want to show the images of your previously illustrated books, what about dressing up the type so that the words stand out as something special that you have done. It's the one thing that popped in my head as an idea but I'm pretty tired right now. Anyway, the site is really beautiful!

  11. There are a couple things that struck me: a clear sense of your style and the ease by which I could navigate through your website to get to what I "needed." One great improvement is when I first go to your site, BAM!, I can see your style in one complete image (I don't have to scroll down to see the rest of your front page). You did a great job in editing and as always I adore your whimsical style so I am glad you're featuring them. Great job Kate!

Looks great! I have to redo mine soo bad but have not had the time. I barely can do the blog.

By the way have you done any Seasonal stuff for your surface design? They sell much better especially Xmas!

    Okay back to work!

  15. Your new look has all the elements of clean web design. It's easy to navigate, loads quickly, and gets the message across without a lot of visual clutter and wordiness (is that a word?).

    Nicely done!

  16. I have to agree with the others, it's clean, it's easy to navigate and you don't have to fight to get to your wonderful content. Also really like your process page.

Funny, if I had books, I have them screaming off the page, but I see your point about wanting to really push your current. style.

    Good job all around!
